::eye twitch, wagner, and Sweden
2:19 p.m. - 2007-03-28

so I've developed an eye twitch. my eye has twitched before, every so often, but now it happens multiple times a day. i think it's probably stress related. these things always are. it's not that i've noticed being particularly stressed-out recently, it's just that everything has been go-Go-GO! for me recently. right now i've been doing research, which might sound relaxing, but it's really not. I've been spending hours and hours in the British Library this week. I really like the British Library, but I feel overly stimulated. I know, they're just books, it's not like I'm watching crazy anime movies all the time. It's just that I've been thinking so much recently, and I would like to take a break, but I can't! It's like I don't know how to turn it off. All the thinking and planning and analyzing and worrying. And now I'm going to Sweden tomorrow. I decided last night.

It's the most spontaneous thing I've ever done, I think. My trip is for research. I'm going to see Das Rheingold on friday because I'm writing my dissertation on Wagner. It's quite ironic, isn't it? that research has made me spontaneous? Has that ever happened to anyone? who knows, maybe I'll find some relief in Sweden. I'm there for 3 nights and two days, and I'm looking forward to it. I've never been to Sweden before, so it'll be interesting, to say the least.
