::I'm just a little old rain cloud.
1:25 p.m. - 2006-08-19
So yesterday was my last day at work. I actually really liked my job, and I can't believe it went by so fast. This past week was rather odd, though. All of the students were gone, as were two of the people who worked in my office. So it was just Oliver and me. On thursday he took me "sailing." There was no wind so we just motored across the lake. The weather was really nice, so it wasn't too bad.
My coworker all summer, Ryan, did absolutely nothing. He simply sat at his computer and played games online. It was rather annoying, considering I was always doing work. The upside of this was that this did not go unnoticed to my boss and supervisor. They absolutely loved me, and they've offered me a job for next summer. I'm not sure if I'll be able to take it. It will depend on how my dissertation is going. I would be the Scheduleing Coordinator and Administrator for the Voice Program. It's really quite perfect for me. And I'd get paid about twice as much.
I found out about my accommodations in Exeter. I'm going to be living in George House which is in town, rather than on campus. It used to be an old brewery that they turned into student housing. I think that's kind of cool. It sounds pretty nice, with only 3-6 people living in each flat. Also, my friend Jane is also going to be living there. I hope we share a flat, but regardless it will be nice to have someone so close.
Also, guess what. I'm going to be working at the DQ again. I know, I must be crazy. I've never really liked the work, but I'm going to be home until Sept. 21, and have nothing to do. It's better to at least get paid while I'm at home. The upside is that I'll be training Lydia. She is starting there in September, so I get to boss her around and get paid for it. Well I should probably get a move on. I still need to shower, and I have a ton of laundry to do.
