::Sink it in the rosy skin of righteousness

So I think this is the longest I've ever gone without updating. But I never thought my entries were very interesting, so that's not really that big of an issue.
Anyway, I'm really busy these days. Between having an internship in Columbus, preparing for a voice recital, being in Pirates of Penzance, producing Sweeney Todd, comps (which I still haven't started), and oh yeah, class, there really isn't much time for anything else.
Sweeney Todd has definitely taken over my life. Which perhaps makes me creapier than I ever was before (if you don't know the show, it's all about "the demon barber of fleet street" who slits peoples throats and bakes them into pies). I'm actually rather obsessed. Although it's not easy planning a show. I know *surprise, surprise* but seriously there have been some hiccups.
Like the theatre double booked us. I had the weekend originally, and then they forgot and gave away one night to a staged reading. Now you'd think this would be a fairly easy situation to deal with. Obviously the staged reading would be the easier thing to move, and hey, we had it first. But the guy's been a real asswhole about it. He told us we should use the recital hall, which would be "better for a musical production." Hell, it would be better for his staged reading to go up there, than for a fully staged musical. We're planning on sets and lights and the whole spectacle, not just some in concert version.
Another thing: of course, not enough guys are trying out. I've now resorted to begging any guy who might have any passing interest in singing/acting. I really have lost all shame in the name of my show.
And the guy who we want for Sweeney isn't sure if he can commit. He'd be amazing. I think he could scare the shit out of me without even trying. His audition was awesome, he even adores the show and considers Sweeney Todd his "dream role." So hopefully he'll come around. If not, then I think we'll have to cast a cute little freshman guy as Sweeney, which really doesn't work all that well.
Oh well we'll see. Tomorrow night I have to beg for money from the school. Hopefully it goes well.
In other news my internship at Opera Columbus is going pretty well. So far there hasn't been a whole lot to do, but I like the people well enough.
