So for my last birthday my mom gave me a cashmere sweater (among other things) and it's really very nice. It's a deep pink color and has a v-neck. Today has been cold and rainy and disgusting; obviously was the perfect day for this sweater. It's the first time I've ever worn it, and I'm really pleased with my garment choice.
It's probably the best part of my day, actually. Nothing has been particularly bad, but it's definitely a blah sort of day. I really dislike it when the bottoms of my pants get wet and it seems completely unavoidable. I'm really glad I live south, though. It's only a two minute walk to everything as opposed to 15 minutes.
I had a voice lesson today which is always nice. I've been a bit out of voice for the last few weeks, though. I really don't know what is causing it, and I'm hesitant to go the health center. I did warm up to a G6, which is a ridiculously high note. I'm pretty sure that no arias even go up that high. I'm pretty sure I'm going to focus on Deh vieni from Marriage of Figaro and Faure's Mandoline this semester. I really like them, although Mandoline's rather difficult.
I'm also trying to figure out my class schedule for next semester. There's only one class that i'm positive I want to take, history of opera, all the other ones i'm unsure of. i either could have complex functions and the divine comedy at 9 and 11 mwf, or differential equations and the victorian world at 1 and 2:40 TR, respectively. I've never had a 9 a.m. class at kenyon, and i'd kind of like to keep it that way, but then i'd have all afternoon free, which would be very nice. but the TR one would only be two days a week and i wouldn't have to wake up early...i'm still undecided.
