::today i got in an argument about Helen Keller

So things have been busy. I have three exams this week, which is awesome. But I'm not really worried, although maybe I should be. I'm not exactly stressed out or anything, just discontent. I guess it's kind of hard to explain.
I really like most of my classes. I don't like statistics, though. I think it's kind of pointless. I know there are real world applications for it, drug testing, political polling, etc. I just think it's a fake science. I just like real math. It's not even calculus based, so it's not even like we understand or use the formulas ourselves. We just plug it all into computers.
I went to the opera this friday which was really fun. I saw Verdi's Aïda for the first time. I was in the second row, which was good in some ways, not so good in others. From the mezz. I'm sure Aida's makeup looked good, but that close she just looked kind of scary and painted all over. She's supposed to be Ethiopian, but the soprano was defnitely caucasian. Everyone was for the most part, but the Egyptian body paint wasn't quite as bad. However, it was really good to be able to see everyone's faces and really observe how they were singing.
I might try to get an internship at Opera Columbus, actually. It might be cool. We'll see.
