So things are going well for me in Italy. It's really crazy that Pope John Paul II died while I'm in the country. I'm really glad I'm not in Rome now--it would just be too crazy.
Yesterday I went to San Gimignano, which is an absolutely stunning town. It was just an amazing day for me, even though I did feel a bit like Odysseus trying to get there. We missed our train stop and everything just took so long in general. A 4 hour round trip turned into 8. It didn't really matter though, it was totally worth it.
